Katherine Heigl has tried everything to quit her long standing nicotine habit. The patch. The gum. Chantex. Twice.
Now she's smoking electronic ciggies. "I know it's ridiculous, but it's helping me not to actually smoke real cigarettes," she told Parade. "You feel like you are smoking, and you get to exhale but it's just water vapor and not nicotine. I've been doing it for six months. "
Heigl showed former addicted smoker David Letterman how she smokes her
electronic cigarette and he got just a little too into the whole concept.
"I'm essentially humidifying the space," she said as she puffed away.
That's great,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Katherine. But they may also be harmful since
the gadgets are poorly regulated and do deliver small amounts of vaporized
nicotine. The FDA has also determined that they also contain carcinogens and toxic chemicals such as diethylene glycol, an ingredient used in anti-freeze.
